Hi ———-, this is John here. Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, we do conduct Ant Exploration Sessions. Our sessions includes discovering the hidden world of ants. During our sessions, we would be sharing fun and fascinating facts about ants and their elusive behavior.

 

We will also share that although ants are tiny in stature, the Ants are Adaptable, Loyal, Gracious, and that they never give up. They believe that anything is possible. They are also risk takers and they will go all out to achieve their goals. To many people, ants are regards as pests, but they have some really inspring factors for us to learn from them.

 

Through this session, the children will also learn about the Ant’s Life Cycle and various ant characteristics, such as how they communicate and their way of life.

During the session, we will be showcasing 5-8 different and unique ant colonies to the children, and we will be doing live-feeding and  illustrating various fun, inspiring and amazing ant facts such as:

 

 

- Ants are Eusocial insects that work and live in harmony

- Do you know that Ants can fly?

- All worker Ants are female

- An Ant is super strong and they can carry around 50 times their body weight

- Ants do not have ears and they “hear’ by feeling vibrations in the ground through their feet

- Ants do not have lungs, they breathe through tiny holes called Spiracles

- One tiny Ant can have as many as 250,000 brain cells

- When the Ants forage, they leave a Pheromone trail so that they will know where they have been

 

Here are the various Ant Colonies which we will be showcasing:

 

- Camponotus Auriventris (Silver Ants)

- Camponotus Irritans (Large Sugar Ants) 

- Camponotus Albosparsus ( Small Sugar Ants)

- Golden Ants (Polyrhachis Beccarii)

- Giant Forest Ants (Largest ant in South East Asia)

- Asian Bullet Ants (Diacamma Rugosum)

- Tetraponera Rufonigra (Singapore’s most poisonous ant)
